BeamDelta
BeamDelta provides camera-based monitoring and quantitative alignment feedback for assembling and calibrating bespoke optical systems.
Key Features:
- Live Beam Position Monitoring: Provides real-time comparison of laser beam position to a stored reference using camera imaging.
- Centroid Calculation and Storage: Calculates beam centroids from live images and stores alignment centroid positions for reference.
- Pixel-based Delta Feedback: Computes and displays pixel-based deltas between the stored reference and current beam positions for precise adjustments.
- Software Compatibility: Operates with cameras via python-microscope.
- Two-Camera Alignment Configuration: Supports a two-camera alignment setup with a suggested parts list (BeamDelta-parts-list.csv) for lens alignment and co-aligning multiple beams.
Scientific Applications:
- Microscopy Alignment: Facilitates precise alignment of optical components in microscopy systems.
- Laser Physics Experiments: Provides quantitative beam-position feedback for laser alignment and beam steering studies.
- Optical System Assembly and Maintenance: Supports assembly, calibration, and routine verification of bespoke optical setups.
- Lens Alignment and Multi-beam Co-alignment: Enables alignment of lenses and co-alignment of multiple beams within compact optical footprints.
Methodology:
Uses camera-based feedback with live imaging and centroid calculations to compute pixel-based deltas between stored reference positions and current beam positions.
