ClinEpiDB
ClinEpiDB enables exploration and analysis of clinical and epidemiological study datasets focused on eukaryotic pathogens and select hosts by integrating data from EuPathDB and a unified semantic web framework.
Key Features:
- Integration with EuPathDB: Aggregates and links study data with EuPathDB resources covering over 170 eukaryotic pathogens, related species, and select hosts.
- Unified semantic web framework: Applies a semantic web framework to support data interoperability and cross-dataset queries.
- Large-scale epidemiological datasets: Provides access to high-quality, large-scale epidemiological and clinical datasets available for download for downstream analyses.
- Data visualization and subsetting: Enables visualization and subsetting of datasets to support exploration of associations between variables and hypothesis generation.
Scientific Applications:
- Epidemiological pattern analysis: Investigate epidemiological patterns of eukaryotic pathogen infections and related host interactions.
- Clinical outcome assessment: Assess clinical outcomes and associations between clinical variables and pathogen characteristics.
- Pathogen–host association studies: Explore associations between pathogen characteristics and disease manifestations in hosts.
- Hypothesis generation and validation: Support hypothesis generation and validation using large-scale datasets and downloadable data for advanced statistical modeling.
Methodology:
Integration with EuPathDB's web toolkit and a unified semantic web framework to enable dataset linking, interrogation, visualization, subsetting, and download for analysis.
