Cytomine
Cytomine enables collaborative integration and analysis of multimodal imaging and molecular data in digital pathology to support molecular histopathology, biomarker discovery, and the correlation of whole-slide digital histology with MALDI imaging and laser microdissection-based microproteomics.
Key Features:
- Multimodal Data Integration: Supports integration of whole-slide digital histology with Matrix Assisted Laser Desorption Ionisation (MALDI) imaging and other imaging modalities to correlate morphological and molecular information.
- Collaborative Environment: Provides an open-source platform for sharing and joint analysis of multimodal datasets among pathologists, researchers, and clinicians.
- Preprocessing for Proteomics: Includes tools for preprocessing proteomic data obtained via laser microdissection-based microproteomics.
- Open Science Approach: Adheres to open science principles, enabling access to and modification of the platform by the scientific community.
Scientific Applications:
- Molecular Histopathology: Bridges classical histology with molecular imaging techniques such as MALDI to enable integrated tissue analyses.
- Biomarker Discovery: Supports workflows that combine imaging and proteomic data for discovery and validation of biomarkers.
- Diagnostic Precision and Personalised Medicine: Enables integrated analyses of morphology and molecular profiles to improve diagnostic precision and inform personalised pathological assessments.
Methodology:
Leverages web-based technologies for managing and analyzing complex datasets; integrates whole-slide digital histology with MALDI imaging; performs preprocessing of laser microdissection-based microproteomics data.
