DRAMP

DRAMP provides a curated repository of antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) aggregating sequence, structure, activity, physicochemical, patent, and clinical data to support AMP research and development.

Key Features:

  • Extensive Data Collection: DRAMP v2.0 contains 19,899 entries, including 5,084 general AMPs, 14,739 patent-related entries, and 76 clinical AMPs, compiled from Swiss-Prot, PDB, PubMed, patent literature, and clinical sources.
  • Unique Non-overlapping Sequences: The database includes 14,040 unique non-overlapping sequences (70.56% of entries) relative to other AMP databases such as APD and CAMP.
  • Detailed Annotations and Classifications: Each entry is annotated with sequence, structure, activity, physicochemical properties, patent information, clinical data, and literature references including PubMed IDs.
  • Clinical Trial Mapping: Clinical AMPs are linked to indications and identifiers from clinicaltrials.gov.

Scientific Applications:

  • Research and Development: Facilitates discovery and development of novel antimicrobial agents by providing integrated sequence, structure, and activity data.
  • Drug Discovery: Supports identification of candidate peptides for preclinical and clinical development using annotated activity, physicochemical, and patent data.
  • Comparative Studies: Enables comparative analyses across AMP databases using unique non-overlapping sequence sets to study peptide diversity and function.
  • Reference Resource: Provides a curated reference for studying AMP sequences, structures, activities, and clinical status.

Methodology:

Data were collected from Swiss-Prot, PDB, PubMed, patent literature, and clinical sources and were curated and annotated with sequences, structures, activities, physicochemical properties, patent and clinical information, and PubMed IDs.
