DatView

DatView is a graphical user interface (GUI) that simplifies and expedites the analysis of large, unmerged serial femtosecond crystallography (SFX) data sets. While primarily developed for SFX, DatView can work with any tabulated data, making it useful for various applications. The tool allows users to plot parameters, draw selections on plots, and synchronize these selections across all other plots, enabling rapid identification of correlations between multiple parameters in large data sets.

DatView also includes an item viewer for displaying images and associated metadata from the current selection. For SFX data processed by CrystFEL's indexamajig, DatView generates a table of parameters and metadata from stream and HDF5 files. Combining several commonly needed SFX tools into a single GUI, DatView reduces the time required to load and calculate statistics from large data sets. The tool facilitates efficient feedback during data collection, determination of optimal indexing and integration parameters, identification of systematic errors, and flexible data filtering and exporting for further processing.
