Epithelial Modelling Platform

Epithelial Modelling Platform facilitates construction and exploration of epithelial transport models by assembling annotated models from the Physiome Model Repository (PMR) and integrating EBI web services for model ranking and semantic visualization.

Key Features:

• Model discovery and assembly: Accesses a curated collection of annotated epithelial transport models in the Physiome Model Repository (PMR) to serve as building blocks for assembling new models tailored to specific research questions.
• Semantic visualization and editing: Provides semantic display and graphical editing of models to support model assembly and iterative modification.
• Integration with EBI Web Services: Integrates European Bioinformatics Institute (EBI) web services to identify and rank similar models based on system suggestions.

Scientific Applications:

• Biomedical research: Enables simulation and analysis of epithelial transport processes to investigate physiological mechanisms of epithelial function.
• Clinical research and hypothesis testing: Supports construction of customized models to study disease mechanisms and to explore potential therapeutic targets related to epithelial transport.
