FATSLiM
FATSLiM analyzes molecular dynamics (MD) simulations of lipid membranes to extract membrane structural and physical properties.
Key Features:
- Efficiency and Robustness: Processes large MD trajectories rapidly while maintaining analytical accuracy and supporting curved or protein-associated membranes.
- Independence from Bilayer Morphology: Computes local normals to enable analysis of flat bilayers, vesicles, and deformed membrane geometries without relying on global bilayer assumptions.
- Memory Efficiency: Employs memory-efficient algorithms to analyze extensive simulations with reduced memory consumption.
Scientific Applications:
- Extraction of physical properties: Quantifies membrane structural and physical properties from MD trajectories.
- Membrane dynamics: Characterizes lipid motion and membrane remodeling in flat, curved, or deformed membranes.
- Protein–lipid interactions: Analyzes membranes with interacting proteins to assess protein-induced membrane perturbations.
- Vesicle and curved-membrane analysis: Enables analysis of vesicles and other non-planar membrane morphologies.
Methodology:
Calculates local normals on MD trajectories to analyze membrane structures across varied morphologies and support morphology-independent measurements.
