GeoNode-Tools4MSP

GeoNode-Tools4MSP provides geospatial analysis and assessment capabilities to support Maritime Spatial Planning (MSP) and marine environmental management.

Key Features:

  • GeoNode integration: Enables sharing and management of geospatial datasets and maps within the GeoNode platform and supports spatial data infrastructures (SDI).
  • RectifiedGrid Library: A Python library for handling geographical grid data and streamlining grid-based geospatial analyses.
  • Tools4MSP Library: Implements spatial analyses of human uses, pressures, and potential impacts and supports Cumulative Effects Assessment (CEA), Maritime Use Conflict (MUC) Analysis, and Marine Ecosystem Services Threat (MES-Threat) analysis.

Scientific Applications:

  • Maritime Spatial Planning (MSP): Supports planning and management of marine and coastal uses and assessment of interactions among uses.
  • Environmental impact assessment: Facilitates assessment of environmental impacts and threats from maritime and coastal activities.
  • Regional MSP platforms (ADRIPLAN): Supports integrated web platforms such as ADRIPLAN for MSP in regions like the Adriatic-Ionian area.

Methodology:

Structured workflow integrating geospatial data sharing, geospatial data analysis, and spatial modeling.
