MIBiG 2.0 provides a curated repository of biosynthetic gene clusters (BGCs) of known function to support genome mining and the characterization of specialized metabolite biosynthesis.

- Curated BGC collection: Contains 851 newly added BGCs and extensive manual curation to improve annotation quality across entries.
- Schema refinement: Uses a redesigned data schema aligned with JSON Schema Draft V7 to standardize and validate BGC annotations.
- REST API layer: Provides a REST API layer for programmatic access to BGC records and integration into computational workflows.
- Minimum Information standard: Adheres to the Minimum Information about a Biosynthetic Gene Cluster (MIBiG) Data Standard to ensure completeness and required metadata for curated BGCs.
