NMR
"Systems NMR" is a software tool that allows for the simultaneous monitoring and quantifying of multiple biomolecules and their interactions within a complex biological network. This method combines the advantages of nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (NMR) with the ability to observe various molecule classes (metabolites, proteins, and RNA) and reaction types (bimolecular interactions, catalysis, and unimolecular changes) in a single sample.
Using this approach, they studied an eight-reaction co-transcriptional RNA folding network, collecting data from over 35-time points with more than 170 observables each. The approach allowed them to accurately determine five core reaction constants simultaneously. The results revealed previously unknown cross-talk between the different reactions within the network.
Additionally, the researchers observed dynamic phase separation in a system of five distinct RNA-binding domains during the RNA transcription reaction.
