ODNA

ODNA aggregates manually curated, experimentally validated data on noncoding RNAs (microRNAs/miRNAs, small nucleolar RNAs/snoRNAs, long noncoding RNAs/lncRNAs, PIWI-interacting RNAs/piRNAs, and circular RNAs/circRNAs) associated with orthopedic disorders to support research into molecular mechanisms of musculoskeletal diseases.

Key Features:

  • Manually Curated Data: Entries are compiled by manual curation to capture specific ncRNA–orthopedic disease relationships.
  • Experimentally Validated Associations: Records are restricted to associations supported by experimental evidence.
  • Comprehensive ncRNA Coverage: Includes multiple ncRNA classes: miRNAs, snoRNAs, lncRNAs, piRNAs, and circRNAs.
  • Disease-Centric Integration: Consolidates ncRNA information across orthopedic conditions affecting bone, joints, spinal cord, peripheral nerves, muscle, connective tissue, and cartilage.

Scientific Applications:

  • Mechanistic Studies: Supports investigation of ncRNA roles in osteoblast and osteoclast differentiation.
  • Pathogenesis Research: Facilitates study of bone and cartilage degeneration, bone metastases, and spinal cord injury repair mechanisms.
  • Stem Cell and Regenerative Biology: Enables analysis of circRNA effects on stem cell differentiation and proliferation.
  • Disease-Specific Investigation: Provides data relevant to arthritis, osteoporosis, and hereditary bone diseases.
  • Data Integration and Meta-analysis: Consolidates fragmented experimental data to enable comprehensive analyses of ncRNA–orthopedic associations.

Methodology:

Entries are manually curated and limited to experimentally validated ncRNA–orthopedic disease associations.
