PlantAligDB

PlantAligDB provides curated nucleotide sequence alignments and associated phylogenetic data for comparative genomics, DNA barcoding, and evolutionary analyses across plant families.

Key Features:

  • Curated Alignments: 514 curated nucleotide sequence alignments comprising 66,052 sequences from six genomic regions—atpF-atpH, psbA-trnH, trnL, rbcL, matK, and ITS—covering 223 plant families.
  • Phylogenetic Trees: Associated phylogenetic trees are provided for the curated alignments.
  • Genetic Diversity Metrics: Various measures of genetic diversity are provided for each plant family.
  • Workflow Script: A workflow script outlining the curation steps is included to support reproducibility.

Scientific Applications:

  • Taxonomic Studies: Multi-locus alignments support resolution of taxonomic relationships across plant families.
  • DNA Barcoding: Curated barcode regions facilitate species identification and biodiversity assessment.
  • Molecular Genetics: Sequence alignments and diversity metrics enable analysis of genetic variation in plants.
  • Phylogenetic Analysis: Alignment and tree data support inference of evolutionary relationships among taxa.
  • Evolutionary Studies: Comprehensive alignments and diversity measures enable investigations of evolutionary processes across the plant kingdom.

Methodology:

A workflow script outlines the steps involved in the curation process.
