RADAR-base

RADAR-base collects and processes continuous streaming mobile health (mHealth) data to enable large-scale, high-resolution remote monitoring and analysis of neurological conditions.

Key Features:

  • Scalability and Extensibility: Built on Confluent/Apache Kafka for streaming and packaged with Docker containers to handle large volumes of high-resolution datasets and facilitate deployment.
  • Security and Privacy: Incorporates measures to protect sensitive health data and support regulatory-compliant handling of participant information.
  • Modular Architecture: Modular design supports integration of mobile apps and third-party sensors, enabling varied data collection configurations.
  • Mobile Applications: Provides a Passive App and an Active App for collecting real-time data from smartphones and wearable sensors, with capability to integrate additional third-party apps and sensors.

Scientific Applications:

  • Neurological disorder studies: Used to collect near-real-time, high-resolution datasets from large participant cohorts in studies of Multiple Sclerosis, Epilepsy, and Depression to support remote monitoring and research.

Methodology:

Employs a modular architecture with Docker containerization and integration with Confluent/Apache Kafka to capture and process continuous streaming data.
