RDFIO
RDFIO enables import and export of RDF (Resource Description Framework) between Semantic MediaWiki and external RDF/ontology formats to integrate semantic biological and chemical data for biomedical research.
Key Features:
- RDF Import/Export Functionality: Imports RDF data into Semantic MediaWiki and exports SMW content back to RDF to support interoperability between Semantic Web formats and SMW's internal format.
- Metadata Management: Manages metadata required for exporting integrated data into RDF or other ontology formats to preserve data consistency across platforms.
- Collaborative Data Integration: Leverages Semantic MediaWiki's structured semantic data authoring to support collaborative organization and integration of biological data.
- Automated and Manual Data Handling: Combines automated RDF data imports with manually curated SMW presentations to integrate machine-derived and human-curated content.
Scientific Applications:
- Drug Discovery Data: Import of drug discovery-related datasets such as rare disease information from Orphanet for biomedical research use.
- Chemical Properties Data: Integration of chemical property datasets such as acid dissociation constants sourced from Wikidata.
Methodology:
Provides a bi-directional framework that imports RDF datasets into Semantic MediaWiki and exports SMW content back into RDF/ontology formats.
