TACITuS

TACITuS manages, pre-processes, selects, and integrates transcriptomic datasets from public repositories such as ArrayExpress and NCBI GEO for downstream microarray and next-generation sequencing (NGS) analyses.

Key Features:

  • Data Access and Integration: Provides querying and retrieval of transcriptomic datasets from ArrayExpress and NCBI GEO.
  • Querying and Subset Extraction: Enables rapid queries and extraction/manipulation of relevant data subsets to avoid downloading full large files.
  • Cloud-Based Data Management: Manages large transcriptomic files within a cloud environment to provide scalable storage and remote data handling.
  • Data Pre-processing Automation: Automates pre-processing steps required for high-throughput microarray and next-generation sequencing (NGS) data.
  • Integration with Galaxy: Allows processed data to be imported into the Galaxy platform for downstream analyses.
  • Support for Microarray and NGS Workflows: Supports handling and high-throughput workflows for both microarray and NGS transcriptomic data.

Scientific Applications:

  • Gene Expression Profiling: Prepares and supplies transcriptomic datasets for gene expression studies.
  • Differential Expression Analysis: Provides pre-processed and curated datasets suitable for differential expression workflows.
  • Integrative Genomics: Enables integration of transcriptomic datasets across studies for integrative genomics research.

Methodology:

Implements specialized cloud-based modules for managing large datasets, facilitates extraction and manipulation of relevant data subsets, automates pre-processing steps for high-throughput microarray and NGS data, and provides an architecture tailored to support high-throughput data workflows.
