Umbria

Umbria provides geospatial and geological datasets for the Umbria region in Italy, enabling analysis of geology, hydrogeology, and seismic hazards and distributing data in shapefile and KMZ formats.

  • Geospatial Database: A comprehensive spatial database covering detailed information on geology, hydrogeology, and seismic hazards specific to the Umbria region.
  • Seismic Hazard Mapping: Cartography of local seismic hazard completed in 2013 based on original sources at a scale of 1:10,000 and revised and standardized for consistency and accuracy.
  • Geological Maps: A corpus of 276 geological maps at a reference scale of 1:10,000 produced over 20 years by the Geological Survey of Regione Umbria, modeling the regional surface and encompassing millions of geological data points.
  • Characteristic Index: A per-geologic-unit index expressed as a percentage representing the ratio between surface area and thickness, where thickness values are calculated from rank levels using a weighted average approach.
