VIPER LC-MS

VIPER LC-MS processes high mass measurement accuracy liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry (LC-MS) data to identify, align, and quantify peptide features using accurate mass and elution time information.

Key Features:

  • LC-MS Feature Discovery: Detects peptide features from deisotoped LC-MS datasets generated by high-accuracy mass spectrometry instruments such as Fourier Transform (FT), Time-of-Flight (TOF), and Orbitrap systems.
  • Accurate Mass and Time Alignment: Aligns detected LC-MS features with peptide databases derived from tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) analyses.
  • Isotopic Label Quantification: Identifies and quantifies pairs of isotopically labeled peptides for comparative proteomic analysis.
  • Two-Dimensional Mass–Elution Visualization: Represents LC-MS data as plots of spectrum number (elution time) versus mass for feature exploration.
  • Multi-Format Data Compatibility: Supports LC-MS data formats including .PEK, .CSV (Decon2LS format), .mzXML, and .mzData.

Scientific Applications:

  • Proteomics Data Analysis: Processes large-scale LC-MS datasets to identify and quantify peptide features in proteomic studies.
  • Differential Proteomics Experiments: Enables comparison of isotopically labeled peptide samples in quantitative proteomics analyses.
  • Accurate Mass and Time Tag Analysis: Supports integration of peptide identification and quantification across multiple LC-MS experiments.

Methodology:

VIPER LC-MS processes deisotoped LC-MS data to discover peptide features, aligns features with peptides identified by LC-MS/MS using accurate mass and elution time information, quantifies isotopically labeled peptide pairs, and visualizes results using mass versus elution time plots.
