VisR

VisR provides integrative analysis and visualization of sequencing datasets using R-based applications (apps) to support exploratory operations, genome browsing, and chained analytical workflows.

Key Features:

  • R apps and Bioconductor integration: Uses R applications (apps) to access computational packages, including those from Bioconductor.
  • Semi-automated app generation: Apps are semi-automatically generated to standardize access to R package functionality.
  • Exploration and brushing: Includes native apps that support exploration and brushing operations on sequencing data.
  • Integrated genome browser: Incorporates a genome browser for navigation and visualization of genomic regions within analyses.
  • Workflow chaining: Enables chaining of apps to construct customized, multi-step analysis workflows.

Scientific Applications:

  • Exploratory sequencing analysis: Interactive exploration and selection of features within sequencing datasets.
  • Genomic visualization: Visualization and navigation of genomic loci and associated sequencing signals.
  • Integrative analyses: Combination of multiple Bioconductor-based analyses into chained workflows for integrative studies.
  • Data-driven subset selection: Use of brushing operations to identify and analyze subsets or regions of interest within sequencing data.

Methodology:

R applications (apps) serve as the mechanism to interact with computational packages (including Bioconductor); apps are semi-automatically generated, can be chained into workflows, and the framework includes an integrated genome browser.
