AMASS

AMASS generates standardized antimicrobial resistance (AMR) surveillance reports by analyzing microbiology and hospital data to support AMR monitoring.


Key Features:

  • Automated Report Generation: Automates analysis of microbiology and hospital data files to produce standardized AMR surveillance reports.
  • Data Compatibility: Processes CSV and Excel files, including exports from WHONET and other laboratory information systems.
  • Implementation: Implemented using the R programming language.
  • WHO GLASS Compliance: Aligns data analysis procedures and report content with World Health Organization Global Antimicrobial Resistance Surveillance System (WHO GLASS) recommendations.
  • Privacy: Generates reports containing only summary data and excludes patient identifiers.
  • Testing and Validation: Tested on Microsoft Windows 10 and 7 and independently evaluated in hospitals in Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Nepal, Thailand, the United Kingdom, and Vietnam using open-access example datasets.

Methodology:

Performs automated analysis of routinely collected microbiological and hospital data using a standardized framework implemented in R, accepts CSV/Excel inputs (including WHONET exports), and generates WHO GLASS–aligned summary reports that exclude patient identifiers.
