ArVirInd

ArVirInd provides an annotated repository of arboviral antigenic protein sequences from India and neighboring countries to support diagnostics, vaccine development, and immuno-informatics research.

Key Features:

  • Antigenic Protein Repository: Compiles annotated protein sequences of antigenic proteins from arboviruses isolated in India, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Pakistan.
  • Data Source Integration: Aggregates sequence data and metadata from NCBI and other relevant public databases.
  • In Silico Antigenic Characterization: Applies epitope prediction methodologies and annotates functional antigenic sites for each protein entry.
  • Search Functionality: Supports searching entries by virus or protein name, country of origin (including India and neighboring countries), and year of collection corresponding to the outbreak year defining the viral strain's origin.

Scientific Applications:

  • Diagnostics and Vaccine Development: Provides annotated antigenic targets and predicted epitopes to inform diagnostic assay and vaccine candidate selection.
  • Immuno-Informatics Research: Enables epitope-based analyses and studies of immune responses to arboviruses.
  • Epidemiological Studies: Allows tracking of viral strains by outbreak year and geographic origin for epidemiological investigations.

Methodology:

Aggregates sequence and metadata from NCBI and other databases, applies epitope prediction methodologies, annotates functional antigenic sites, and indexes entries by virus/protein name, country of origin, and year of collection.
