ASCancer Atlas
ASCancer Atlas curates experimentally validated and computationally predicted alternative splicing (AS) events in human cancers to map AS dysregulation, regulatory relationships, functional consequences, and potential therapeutic strategies.
Key Features:
- High-confidence experimentally validated events: Contains 2,006 experimentally validated cancer-associated splicing events that have been demonstrated to promote tumorigenesis.
- Systematic splicing regulatory network: Maps interactions between upstream splicing regulators and downstream oncogenic effects to reveal regulatory relationships.
- Functional axis curation: Annotates for each splicing event its upstream splicing regulators, specific splicing event characteristics, downstream oncogenic impacts, and linked potential therapeutic strategies.
- Extensive computational predictions: Houses approximately 2 million computationally predicted splicing events to expand candidate hypotheses for validation.
- Multi-scale analysis tools: Provides computational tools for multi-scale analysis of AS data across different levels of complexity and detail.
Scientific Applications:
- Functional genomics studies: Supports identification and characterization of splicing events that contribute to oncogenesis.
- Therapeutic target identification: Informs discovery of potential therapeutic strategies linked to specific AS events.
- Cross-disciplinary integration: Integrates curated and predicted splicing data to enable comparative analyses across cancer types and studies.
Methodology:
Curates experimentally validated splicing events, generates approximately 2 million computational predictions, constructs splicing regulatory networks, and annotates functional axes for each documented event.
