AutoScanJ
AutoScanJ automates image-based target detection and microscope control to enable targeted high-resolution imaging in motorized fluorescence microscopy of live and fixed samples.
Key Features:
- Automated Target Detection: Automatically identifies targets of interest in images and directs a motorized microscope to their precise locations for imaging.
- High-Resolution Imaging for Live Samples: Detects biological events at onset and acquires high-resolution images of transient processes in live specimens.
- Data Acquisition Optimization for Fixed Samples: Reduces data volume and acquisition time by focusing imaging on statistically significant targets within each field of view.
- Compatibility with Microscope Control Platforms: Interfaces with motorized fluorescence microscopes via Leica LAS AF/X and Micro-Manager.
- Customization and Extensibility: Provides target detection functions and ImageJ macro-compatible scripts for developing and sharing custom image analysis workflows.
Scientific Applications:
- Micropatterned-surface imaging: Enables targeted imaging of samples fixed on micropatterned surfaces.
- Live cell division monitoring: Enables detection and high-resolution imaging of live cells undergoing multiple rounds of division.
Methodology:
Implemented as a suite of ImageJ scripts and macro functions that perform automated target detection and control motorized microscopes via Leica LAS AF/X or Micro-Manager.
