BA-plotteR

BA-plotteR generates Bland-Altman (Limits of Agreement) plots to analyze agreement between two measurement methods and to assess heteroscedasticity and fixed or proportional bias in method comparison studies.

Key Features:

  • Dedicated Bland-Altman functionality: Focuses specifically on creating Bland-Altman plots and constructing limits of agreement for two-method comparisons.
  • Heteroscedasticity and bias handling: Analyzes and accommodates heteroscedastic data and fixed or proportional biases encountered in method comparison data.
  • Implementation: Implemented using Shiny/R.
  • Automated data distribution analysis: Includes automated analysis of data distributions to guide plotting and interpretation.
  • Validation: Validated on 20 diverse datasets with various distributions, with outputs compared to manually derived results showing agreement.

Scientific Applications:

  • Method comparison studies: Quantifies agreement and assesses interchangeability between two measurement methods using Bland-Altman analysis.
  • Clinical measurement validation: Evaluates new diagnostic tools or measurement techniques for agreement with established methods in clinical research.

Methodology:

Performs analysis of data distributions, accommodates heteroscedasticity and fixed or proportional bias, and computes Bland-Altman plots with limits of agreement.
