BBMRI-Portal provides a centralized directory that aggregates metadata from biobanks across Europe via BBMRI-ERIC to enable discovery of biological samples and associated data for biomedical research.

• Aggregate metadata: Compiles comprehensive metadata from participating biobanks, including contact and infrastructure details.
• Biobank directory and metadata publication: Catalogs participating biobanks and stores published contact and infrastructure metadata.
• Sample and data discovery facilitation: Enables locating available biological samples and associated data across multiple biobanks.
• European coverage and BBMRI-ERIC integration: Integrates information from biobanks across Europe and is maintained through BBMRI-ERIC.
