BCLncRDB
BCLncRDB aggregates and curates long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) associations and annotations relevant to breast cancer research.
Key Features:
- Dataset scope: Contains 5324 unique associations between lncRNAs and breast cancer.
- Data sources: Aggregates information from peer-reviewed research articles, the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) Database of the National Centre for Biotechnology Information (NCBI), The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA), and the Ensembl database.
- Differential expression and methylation data: Includes information on differentially expressed and differentially methylated lncRNAs in breast cancer.
- Stage- and subtype-specific lncRNAs: Documents lncRNAs specific to breast cancer stages and molecular subtypes.
- Comprehensive annotations: Provides associated drugs, subcellular localization, nucleotide sequences, and chromosomal locations for annotated lncRNAs.
Scientific Applications:
- lncRNA dysregulation analysis: Use differential expression and methylation data to characterize lncRNA dysregulation in breast cancer.
- Marker identification: Identify stage- and subtype-specific lncRNAs as potential markers of disease progression and heterogeneity.
- Functional and translational studies: Leverage annotations (drug associations, localization, sequence, chromosomal location) to support functional characterization and translational research.
Methodology:
Data were aggregated and curated from peer-reviewed research articles, the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) at NCBI, The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA), and the Ensembl database.
