BIDDSAT
BIDDSAT assesses and visualizes the quality and completeness of biodiversity datasets shared through the Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF) to support identification and correction of data issues and improve dataset reliability for research.
Key Features:
- Diagnostic Visualizations: Provides a suite of selected diagnostic visualizations tailored to evaluate various aspects of biodiversity datasets and to identify potential data issues.
- Open Source (GPLv3): Source code is available under the GNU General Public License version 3 (GPLv3) at https://github.com/jotegui/BIDDSAT.
Scientific Applications:
- Dataset quality assessment for publishers: Enables data publishers to identify and rectify dataset issues to improve completeness and reliability of GBIF-shared biodiversity datasets.
- Research data improvement for users: Enhances dataset assessments to support more accurate scientific analyses and biodiversity research.
Methodology:
Evaluates biodiversity datasets using diagnostic visual analytics and integrates user feedback with global assessments to identify and prioritize data quality issues.
