BigDataProcessor2

BigDataProcessor2 processes terabyte-scale bioimaging datasets to enable interactive preprocessing (cropping, chromatic correction, drift correction) and visualization of electron microscopy (EM) and light sheet microscopy data.

Key Features:

  • TB-sized dataset handling: Interactive processing and visualization of terabyte (TB)-sized images comprising thousands of time points or tiles.
  • Large-scale rendering with BigDataViewer (BDV): Employs BigDataViewer for efficient rendering and interactive visualization of large datasets.
  • ImgLib2-powered processing: Leverages ImgLib2 for core image processing operations on large-scale data.
  • Preprocessing operations: Supports cropping, chromatic corrections, drift corrections, and visualization of large bioimaging datasets.

Scientific Applications:

  • Electron microscopy (EM) datasets: Preprocessing and visualization of large EM volumes for structural analyses.
  • Light sheet microscopy datasets: Processing multi-time-point and tiled light sheet microscopy data for developmental imaging studies.
  • Structural biology: Enables handling of TB-sized high-resolution data used in structural biology investigations.
  • Developmental studies: Supports longitudinal and tiled imaging analyses in developmental research.

Methodology:

Implemented in Java; employs BigDataViewer for rendering and ImgLib2 for image processing; supports cropping, chromatic correction, and drift correction on terabyte-scale datasets.
