BioCatalogue API
BioCatalogue API provides centralized registry and programmatic access to life sciences Web Services for discovery, monitoring, and metadata annotation to support genomic analysis, proteomics, metabolomics, and other computational biology tasks.
Key Features:
- Centralized Registry: A repository for registration and indexing of life sciences Web Services.
- Comprehensive Search and Filter Capabilities: Detailed searching and filtering by technical types, bioinformatics categories, user tags, service providers, and data inputs/outputs.
- Monitoring and Reliability: Continuous monitoring of service status and performance to identify unavailable or unreliable services.
- Community Contributions: Community members can register services and contribute annotations and metadata.
- Programmatic Web Service Interface: An API for automated queries and integration into computational workflows.
Scientific Applications:
- Genomic analysis: Enables discovery and selection of Web Services relevant to genomic analysis workflows.
- Proteomics: Facilitates locating Web Services applicable to proteomics analyses.
- Metabolomics: Supports finding Web Services applicable to metabolomics analyses.
- Computational biology workflows: Supports assembly of automated pipelines through programmatic discovery and monitoring of services.
Methodology:
Service registration and community-contributed annotations and updates; continuous monitoring of registered service status and performance; and a programmatic Web Service interface for automated access.
