Battlefield
Battlefield extracts spatial spots from specific tissue regions—such as front regions, niche borders, invasive margins, and cluster interfaces—using spatial transcriptomics data or clustered tissue maps, and provides low-level utilities for spatial transcriptomics analysis intended for reuse within higher-level analytical packages.
Key Features:
- Spatial spot extraction: Defines and extracts spatial spots from tissue regions including front regions, niche borders, invasive margins, and cluster interfaces.
- Trajectory selection: Supports selection of trajectories in spatial data.
- Layer inspection: Enables inspection of tissue layers in spatial transcriptomics data.
- Platform compatibility: Works with sequencing-based platforms including Visium at several resolutions and Visium HD (binned).
- Low-level utilities: Provides reusable utilities primarily intended for integration into higher-level analytical packages.
Scientific Applications:
- Spatial transcriptomics analysis: Enables targeted analysis of biologically relevant tissue regions and interfaces in spatial transcriptomics datasets.
- Niche border characterization: Facilitates study of spatial boundaries between tissue niches and invasive margins.
- Cluster interface investigation: Supports examination of interfaces between cell clusters in spatially resolved data.
Methodology:
Spatial spot extraction from defined tissue regions using spatial transcriptomics data or clustered tissue maps; trajectory selection and layer inspection methods are implemented for spatial data analysis.
