cTRAP
cTRAP compares differential gene expression results with those from known cellular perturbations (such as gene knock-down, overexpression or small molecules) derived from the Connectivity Map to infer molecular causes of observed transcriptomic differences and identify small molecules that could drive or revert specific alterations.
Key Features:
- Connectivity Map Comparison: Compares user-provided differential gene expression results against known cellular perturbations from the Connectivity Map database.
- Causal Perturbation Inference: Infers molecular causes of observed differences in gene expression from transcriptomic data.
- Small Molecule Identification: Identifies small molecules that could drive or revert specific transcriptomic alterations.
Scientific Applications:
- Transcriptomic Alteration Analysis: Determines molecular causes underlying differential gene expression patterns in cellular systems.
- Therapeutic Compound Discovery: Identifies small molecules capable of modulating disease-relevant transcriptomic signatures.
Methodology:
The tool compares differential gene expression results with perturbation profiles from the Connectivity Map, including gene knock-down, overexpression, and small molecule treatments.
