DeepTarget
DeepTarget predicts a drug's primary target(s), secondary target(s), and target form specificity by integrating large-scale genetic and drug screens from the Cancer Dependency Map project.
Key Features:
- Primary Target Prediction: Predicts a drug's primary target(s) from ~18,000 possible target genes.
- Target Form Specificity: Investigates whether a drug specifically targets the wild-type or mutated target forms.
- Secondary Target Prediction: Identifies secondary target(s) that mediate drug response when the primary target is not expressed.
- Large-Scale Integration: Integrates existing large-scale genetic and drug screens spanning ~1500 drugs.
Scientific Applications:
- Clinical Trial Success Association: Predicted drug specificity to its target is strongly associated with success in clinical trials and is higher in FDA-approved indications.
- Undruggable Oncogene Targeting: Predicts candidate drugs for targeting currently undruggable cancer oncogenes and their mutant forms.
- Mechanism of Action Elucidation: Predicts new targets for drugs with unknown mechanism of action and new secondary targets of approved drugs.
- Drug Prioritization: Accelerates drug prioritization and target discovery by leveraging large-scale genetic and drug screens.
Methodology:
DeepTarget integrates large-scale genetic and drug screens from the Cancer Dependency Map project run by the Broad Institute.
