EpiDISH
EpiDISH infers the proportions of a priori known cell-types present in a sample representing a mixture of such cell-types from DNAm data.
Key Features:
- Blood-tissue deconvolution: Supports DNAm data from blood-tissue across all ages, from birth to old-age.
- Epithelial tissue deconvolution: Supports generic epithelial tissue DNAm data.
- Breast tissue deconvolution: Supports breast tissue DNAm data.
- Differentially methylated cell-type identification: Provides a function to identify differentially methylated cell-types and their directionality of change in Epigenome-Wide Association Studies.
Scientific Applications:
- Cell-type proportion estimation: Enables inference of known cell-type proportions in complex tissue mixtures using DNAm data.
- Epigenome-Wide Association Studies: Supports identification of cell-type-specific differential methylation and directionality of change in EWAS.
Methodology:
The package uses a priori known cell-type reference profiles to infer cell-type proportions from mixed-sample DNAm data.
