EpiTxDb
EpiTxDb facilitates the storage of epitranscriptomic information, tracking modification identity, position, the enzyme introducing the modification on RNA, a specifier determining the position on RNA to be modified, and associated literature references.
Key Features:
- Modification Identity Tracking: Records the specific chemical identity of each RNA modification.
- Modification Position Tracking: Stores the genomic or transcriptomic position of each modification.
- Enzyme Annotation: Links each modification to the enzyme responsible for introducing it on the RNA.
- Specifier Annotation: Records the specifier determining which position on the RNA is modified.
- Literature Reference Integration: Associates each modification with relevant literature references.
- AnnotationDbi Interface: Provides data access through the standard Bioconductor AnnotationDbi framework.
Scientific Applications:
- Epitranscriptome Database Construction: Enables structured storage and retrieval of RNA modification data for research and database projects.
- RNA Modification Research: Supports investigations into the enzymes, specifiers, and positions involved in RNA modifications.
Methodology:
EpiTxDb implements the AnnotationDbi interface for storing and accessing epitranscriptomic information.
