ipdDb
ipdDb provides programmatic access to all alleles from the IPD IMGT/HLA and IPD KIR databases for Homo sapiens.
Key Features:
- IPD IMGT/HLA Database Access: Provides all alleles from the IPD IMGT/HLA database for human major histocompatibility complex sequences.
- IPD KIR Database Access: Provides all alleles from the IPD KIR database for human killer-cell immunoglobulin-like receptor sequences.
Scientific Applications:
- Immunogenetics Research: Supports analysis of HLA and KIR allele diversity in human immunogenetics studies.
- Transplantation Studies: Enables investigation of HLA allele compatibility and matching for transplantation research.
- Natural Killer Cell Research: Facilitates studies of KIR receptor variation and its role in immune response.
Methodology:
The package compiles and distributes allele data from the IPD IMGT/HLA and IPD KIR databases as an R/Bioconductor data package.
