mbQTL

mbQTL performs simultaneous 16srRNA, 16srDNA (microbial) and variant, SNP, SNV (host) relationship, correlation, and regression studies using linear, logistic, and correlation-based statistics to identify relationships between microbial taxa, genus, species and host genetic variants in infected hosts.

Key Features:

  • Statistical Testing: Applies linear, logistic, and correlation-based statistics to identify relationships between microbial taxa, genus, species and variant, SNP, SNV in the infected host.
  • Significance Measures: Produces P values, FDR, BC, and probability estimation to show significance of identified relationships.
  • Visualization Functions: Provides various visualization functions for clarification of analysis results.
  • Data Format Compatibility: Compatible with dataframe, MRexperiment, and text formats.

Scientific Applications:

  • Microbiome-Genome Association Studies: Enables SNP-Taxa mGWAS analysis to investigate host-microbe interactions in infected hosts.
  • Host-Microbe Relationship Analysis: Identifies statistical relationships between host genetic variants (SNP, SNV) and microbial community composition (16srRNA, 16srDNA-derived taxa, genus, species).

Methodology:

mbQTL applies linear, logistic, and correlation-based statistics to test relationships between microbial features and host genetic variants, producing P values, FDR, BC, and probability estimates for significance assessment.
