receptLoss
receptLoss identifies genes whose expression is lost in subsets of tumors relative to normal tissue.
Key Features:
- Small normal sample handling: The distribution of gene expression in normal tissue samples is approximated by a Gaussian, making it well-suited for cases where the number of normal tissue samples is small.
- Transcriptome-wide applicability: Originally designed for identifying nuclear hormone receptor expression loss but can be applied transcriptome wide as well.
Scientific Applications:
- Tumor subset analysis: Identification of genes with expression loss in subsets of tumors relative to normal tissue.
- Nuclear hormone receptor studies: Detection of nuclear hormone receptor expression loss in tumor samples.
Methodology:
The distribution of gene expression in normal tissue samples is approximated by a Gaussian.
