scmap
scmap projects cells from a single-cell RNA-seq (scRNA-seq) experiment onto the cell-types or individual cells identified in a different experiment.
Key Features:
- Unsupervised projection: Enables comparison of cells across different scRNA-seq experiments without requiring integrated analysis.
- Cell-type mapping: Maps query cells to reference cell-types or individual cells defined by unsupervised clustering.
Scientific Applications:
- Cross-experiment cell comparison: Facilitates direct comparison of cell populations identified in independent scRNA-seq studies despite differences in experimental methods and computational analyses.
- Cell-type annotation: Assigns cell-type labels to cells from new experiments by projection onto existing reference datasets.
Methodology:
scmap performs unsupervised projection of single-cell RNA-seq data.
