Bioinformatics Toolkit

Bioinformatics Toolkit integrates a suite of protein bioinformatics programs for sequence alignment, structure prediction, and functional annotation.

Key Features:

  • Wide array of tools: The Toolkit includes BLAST+, CS-BLAST, HMMER3, MUSCLE, HHpred, HHblits, and PCOILS for sequence search, profile comparison, and coiled-coil prediction.
  • Interconnected tools: The included programs are tightly interconnected to enable transfer of results between methods and composite analyses across tools.

Scientific Applications:

  • Sequence alignment: Supports sequence similarity searches and multiple sequence alignment using BLAST+, CS-BLAST, MUSCLE, HMMER3, and HHblits.
  • Structure prediction: Enables homology detection and profile–profile comparison for structure inference using HHpred and HHblits.
  • Functional annotation: Facilitates annotation of protein function through sequence and profile searches with BLAST+, HMMER3, and HHpred.

Methodology:

Infrastructure has been continuously updated and the tool repertoire expanded, including additions such as CS-BLAST and HHblits.
