BrainBase integrates curated disease–gene associations, drug–target interactions, gene expression specificity data, and multi-omics glioma profiles to support research into the genetic and molecular basis of brain diseases.

  • Manual curation and data integration: Manual curation of 2,768 published articles combined with data retrieved from public databases.
  • Disease–gene associations: A collection of 7,175 disease–gene associations linking 123 distinct brain diseases to 5,662 genes.
  • Drug–target interactions: Catalog of 16,591 drug–target interactions involving 2,118 drugs or chemicals and 623 genes.
  • Gene expression specificity: Categorization of genes by expression specificity across brain tissue/regions, cerebrospinal fluid, and cells.
  • Glioma multi‑omics profiles: Incorporation of 21 multi-omics datasets and identification of four groups of glioma-associated genes with potential clinical relevance.
