BV-BRC

BV-BRC provides integrated access to PATRIC, IRD, and ViPRA data and analysis to support bacterial and viral genomic and other omics research.

Key Features:

  • Resource integration: Integrates data and functions from PATRIC, IRD, and ViPRA into a single platform.
  • Unified data model: Implements a unified data model that consolidates the functionalities of its constituent resources.
  • Genomic and omics support: Supports analysis of extensive genomic sequence data and other omics-related datasets.
  • Web-based visualization and analysis: Provides web-based visualization tools and analysis capabilities tailored for bacterial and viral research.
  • Command-line tools: Includes command-line tools for advanced bioinformatics analyses.
  • Interoperability: Enables integrated analyses across bacterial and viral datasets through consolidated data and tools.

Scientific Applications:

  • Infectious disease research: Enables analysis of pathogen genomics relevant to bacterial and viral pathogens.
  • Virulence factor analysis: Supports identification and study of virulence factors.
  • Resistance mechanism analysis: Supports characterization of resistance mechanisms.
  • Evolutionary dynamics: Enables analysis of evolutionary dynamics of bacterial and viral populations.
  • Translational research: Supports basic research through to applied studies aimed at developing therapeutic strategies.

Methodology:

Integration of PATRIC, IRD, and ViPRA into a unified data model, coupled with provision of web-based visualization tools and command-line analysis tools.
