cRegulome
cRegulome provides programmatic access to, local hosting of, and analysis of transcription factor (TF) and microRNA (miRNA)–gene expression correlations across cancer types to characterize regulatory interactions.
Key Features:
- Data Access and Management: Programmatic access to and extraction of data from Cistrome Cancer and miRCancerdb with local hosting for efficient querying of cancer-specific regulome datasets.
- Visualization Capabilities: R classes and methods for visualizing TF and miRNA expression correlation data to support interpretation of regulatory relationships.
- Integration with R Ecosystem: Provides R-based data structures and methods compatible with R statistical and graphical tools for downstream analysis.
Scientific Applications:
- Gene regulatory network analysis: Characterizes TF and miRNA interactions with target genes across cancer types using expression correlations.
- Biomarker and target discovery: Supports identification of candidate regulatory biomarkers and therapeutic targets informed by correlation patterns.
- Comparative cancer regulome studies: Enables comparative analyses of regulome activity across multiple cancer types using integrated public datasets.
Methodology:
Extraction and local hosting of data from Cistrome Cancer and miRCancerdb, programmatic querying and analysis of expression correlations, and visualization via R classes and methods.
