CANVS

CANVS analyzes and visualizes mass spectrometry-based protein-protein interaction (PPI) and protein-protein association (PPA) data to contextualize interactome networks and support interpretation of proteomic experiments.

Key Features:

  • Data types supported: mass spectrometry-based proteomic PPI and PPA datasets.
  • Data preprocessing: cleans interactome and association experimental data.
  • Analysis: performs quantitative analysis of protein interactions and associations from mass spectrometry-derived data.
  • Network generation: generates protein-protein interaction and protein-protein association (PPI/A) networks.
  • Database integration: integrates results with BioGRID and CORUM for contextual information on interactions and complexes.
  • Gene Ontology (GO) analysis: identifies relevant GO terms and links proteins to those terms.
  • Visualization: creates visual networks highlighting proteins associated with GO terms and interaction/association relationships.

Scientific Applications:

  • Interactome mapping: elucidates protein interaction and association networks to inform protein function.
  • Proteomics data interpretation: contextualizes complex mass spectrometry-derived datasets using integrated interaction and complex databases.
  • Functional annotation: links proteins to Gene Ontology terms to reveal associated biological processes, molecular functions, or cellular components.
  • Contextual comparison: compares experimental interaction/association results against curated resources such as BioGRID and CORUM.

Methodology:

Performs data cleaning, quantitative analysis, and visualization of mass spectrometry-based interactome association data, integrates results with BioGRID and CORUM, and identifies GO terms to create protein–GO and PPI/A visual networks.
