CCDB

CCDB catalogs inter-chemical correlations across publicly available metabolomics and exposomics datasets to support interpretation of chemical relationships in human specimen data.

Key Features:

  • Comprehensive catalogue: Compiles inter-chemical correlations from a collection of 35 high-quality human studies, including the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) and various untargeted metabolomics datasets.
  • Chemical scope: Contains correlations for Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS), polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), phthalates, tobacco smoke-related metabolites, xenobiotic metabolites such as caffeine and acetaminophen, endogenous metabolites such as acyl-carnitines, and unannotated peaks specific to PFAS.
  • Correlation analytics: Performs calculation and compilation of inter-chemical correlation matrices across included metabolomics and exposomics datasets.
  • Network graph analysis and visualization: Generates network graphs and visualizations to represent and interpret correlation structures among chemicals.

Scientific Applications:

  • Environmental health: Enables investigation of correlated chemical exposure patterns relevant to population-level and individual-level environmental health studies.
  • Toxicology: Supports analysis of exposure-related metabolite networks to inform toxicological interpretation of chemical mixtures.
  • Personalized medicine and metabolomics research: Facilitates study of chemical–metabolite relationships that may inform individualized exposure profiling and metabolomics investigations.

Methodology:

Compilation of publicly available metabolomics and exposomics data from high-quality human studies, calculation of inter-chemical correlations, and generation of network graph visualizations of correlation structures.
