CEBS
CEBS provides access to curated toxicology study results and metadata, integrating data from over 10,250 studies and more than 12,750 test articles (chemicals and environmental agents) to support analysis of chemical effects in biological systems.
Key Features:
- Curated repository: Contains data from over 10,250 studies involving more than 12,750 test articles, including chemicals and environmental agents.
- Data warehouse and marts integration: Internal repositories have been integrated into comprehensive data warehouses and marts to consolidate curated datasets.
- Metadata harmonization and ontology mapping: Harmonizes legacy terms and metadata, maps test articles to external identifiers, and aligns terminology with Open Biological and Biomedical Ontology (OBO) Foundry ontologies.
- Per-test-article records: Records include NTP conclusions, relevant publications, individual studies, data collections, and links to associated test articles and projects.
- Data distribution: Provides downloadable flat files via FTP and programmatic access via APIs for integration with computational tools.
Scientific Applications:
- Toxicology research: Aggregates study-level and test-article-level data to support toxicological assessment and comparison across studies.
- Environmental health studies: Enables investigation of effects of chemicals and environmental agents across curated datasets.
- Computational integration and secondary analysis: Facilitates incorporation of CEBS data into computational workflows via flat files and APIs for downstream analyses.
Methodology:
Integration of internal repositories into data warehouses and marts; harmonization of legacy terms and metadata; mapping test articles to external identifiers; alignment of terminology with OBO Foundry ontologies; provision of downloadable flat files via FTP and programmatic access via APIs.
