CellPAINT
CellPAINT generates molecular-scale illustrations of cells and viruses by assembling molecular ingredients derived from Protein Data Bank (PDB) structural data to support visualization and hypothesis generation.
Key Features:
- Custom ingredient generation: Creates custom molecular ingredients from Protein Data Bank (PDB) structural data for incorporation into scenes.
- Interaction mechanisms: Implements interaction mechanisms that define relationships and positioning between molecular ingredients.
- Grouping and locking: Provides grouping and locking mechanisms to organize and fix components during assembly of complex scenes.
- Scene assembly and manipulation: Supports organization and manipulation of components to assemble large, intricate cellular and viral scenes while preserving molecular detail.
Scientific Applications:
- Visualization of cellular and viral assemblies: Produces detailed illustrations of molecular assemblies within cells and viruses for analysis and interpretation.
- Interpretation of cryoelectron tomograms: Serves as a hypothesis-generating instrument during interpretation of cryoelectron tomograms.
Methodology:
Integration of custom ingredient generation using structural data sourced from the Protein Data Bank (PDB).
