CEU Mass Mediator

CEU Mass Mediator identifies and prioritizes candidate metabolites from mass spectrometry data by querying integrated metabolomic databases and applying a rule-based annotation scoring system.


Key Features:

  • Integrated Metabolite Database: Searches 279,318 real compounds from databases including the Human Metabolome Database (HMDB), KEGG, and LipidMaps, along with 672,042 simulated compounds from MINE.
  • Rule-Based Annotation Scoring: Applies 122 expert-derived rules to score candidate metabolite annotations based on evidence supporting or refuting each match.
  • Knowledge-Driven Evidence Evaluation: Extracts and evaluates relationships among candidate annotations using expert knowledge and literature-derived rules.
  • Candidate Prioritization: Ranks metabolite annotations according to likelihood scores derived from rule-based evaluation.
