CiF

CiF provides integrated archival and analysis resources for the fungal genus Fusarium, including plant and animal pathogenic species that produce diverse toxins, to support phylogenetic marker archiving, species identification, genome analysis, and community data sharing.

Key Features:

  • Fusarium-ID: Archives phylogenetic marker sequences from most known Fusarium species with associated characterized-isolate metadata to support strain identification and phylogenetic analyses.
  • Fusarium Comparative Genomics Platform (FCGP): Archives genomes from five different Fusarium species across four species categories and provides genome browsing and analysis with computed characteristics of multiple gene families and functional groups.
  • Cart/Favorite function: Collects sequences from Fusarium-ID and FCGP into selectable sets for downstream retrieval and analysis.
  • Fusarium Community Platform (FCP): Hosts an online forum for sharing and preserving community knowledge, data, and research experience related to Fusarium.

Scientific Applications:

  • Species identification and strain typing: Uses archived phylogenetic marker sequences and isolate metadata to identify Fusarium species and strains.
  • Phylogenetic analysis: Supports robust phylogenetic studies using comprehensive marker sequence datasets.
  • Comparative genomics: Enables genome-scale comparisons across multiple Fusarium species and species categories using archived genomes and genome-browsing tools.
  • Gene-family and functional-group characterization: Provides computed characteristics for multiple gene families and functional groups to support functional and evolutionary studies.
  • Community data sharing and preservation: Facilitates exchange and preservation of Fusarium-related data and knowledge among researchers.

Methodology:

Archiving of phylogenetic marker sequences and genomes; genome browsing and genome-scale analysis; computation of characteristics for multiple gene families and functional groups; collection of sequences into cart/favorite sets for downstream use.
