CilioGenics
CilioGenics combines single-cell RNA sequencing, protein-protein interactions, comparative genomics, transcription factor network analysis, and text mining to predict the ciliary capacity of each human gene and assigns a CilioGenics score representing the probability that a gene will become a ciliary gene.
Key Features:
- Integrated multi-method approach: Combines single-cell RNA sequencing, protein-protein interactions (PPIs), comparative genomics, transcription factor (TF) network analysis, and text mining to predict ciliary genes.
- CilioGenics score: Provides a score for every human gene that represents the probability that it will become a ciliary gene.
- Experimental validation: The top 500 gene list includes 258 new ciliary candidates, with 31 validated experimentally.
Scientific Applications:
- Ciliopathy diagnosis: Predicts novel ciliary genes to support the diagnosis of cilia-related human diseases collectively known as ciliopathies.
- Ciliary gene discovery: Identifies ciliary candidate genes to help complete the full list of human ciliary genes.
Methodology:
CilioGenics combines single-cell RNA sequencing, protein-protein interactions, comparative genomics, transcription factor network analysis, and text mining; the combined approach provides a CilioGenics score for every human gene.
