CometAnalyser

CometAnalyser analyzes wide-field microscopy images of the Comet Assay obtained with fluorescent and silver-staining techniques to segment comets and quantify DNA damage at the single-cell level.

Key Features:

  • Deep-learning segmentation and classification: Uses deep-learning algorithms to automatically segment and classify comets in wide-field fluorescent and silver-stained microscopy images.
  • Feature extraction: Extracts intensity and morphological features, including Tail Moment, and exports these measurements to spreadsheet files.

Scientific Applications:

  • Genotoxicity assessment: Quantifies DNA damage for genotoxicity studies, including damage induced by radiotherapy and chemotherapeutic agents.
  • Single-cell DNA damage analysis: Measures displacement between comet head and tail and other single-cell parameters to assess DNA fragmentation.

Methodology:

Applies deep-learning algorithms for automated segmentation and classification of comets, extracts intensity and morphological features (including Tail Moment), and exports measurements to spreadsheet files.
