COVIEdb
COVIEdb provides a database of predicted B-cell and T-cell immune epitopes across SARS-CoV, MERS-CoV, 2019-nCoV (SARS-CoV-2), and RaTG13-CoV to support identification of vaccine targets and cross-reactive immunogenic regions.
Key Features:
- Epitope Prediction: Incorporates predictions of potential B-cell and T-cell epitopes based on protein sequences from multiple coronaviruses.
- Pan-Coronavirus Targets: Highlights epitopes with cross-reactivity potential, including sequences YFKYWDQTY in ORF1ab and VYDPLQPEL and TVYDPLQPEL in the spike (S) protein.
- Centralized Epitope Repository: Provides a consolidated collection of predicted epitopes across SARS-CoV, MERS-CoV, 2019-nCoV (SARS-CoV-2), and RaTG13-CoV to inform comparative analyses and vaccine target selection.
Scientific Applications:
- Vaccine design: Supports identification of conserved and cross-reactive epitopes for development of broad-spectrum coronavirus vaccines.
- Immunogenicity research: Enables exploration of immunogenic regions across SARS-CoV, MERS-CoV, 2019-nCoV (SARS-CoV-2), and RaTG13-CoV to inform studies of immune recognition and preparedness for emerging variants.
Methodology:
Predictions are derived from comprehensive analyses of viral protein sequences.
